Intermediate Wire Wrapping: May 2022 Class

Intermediate Wire Wrapping of Cabochon

When: Thursday, May 26, 2022 @ 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Where: Destin Room, SeaBreeze Recreation Center

Instructor: Mary McGee

What will be covered: Mary will teach a more advanced form of wire wrapping, including twisting the wire to enhance your design.  She will also teach how to make a bow shaped bail.

Supplies Required

A kit will be provided at a cost of $5.00 which includes a cabochon (3/4—1 inch long), 3 pieces of 20 gauge copper square wire  (approx. 9 inches long) 24 gauge copper round wire, 1 3mm bead with a hole big enough for the square wire to fit through.  IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU PURCHASE THE KIT AS IT HAS ALL THE COMPONENTS THAT YOU NEED.  There will be 25 kits available.

**If you choose to purchase your own items, the wire must be dead soft.

Tools Required

  • Needle Nose Pliers
  • Nylon Flat Nose Pliers
  • Wire Cutters
  • if you have a double ended pin vice to twist the square wire, bring that as well.
