The next class of the Villages Gem and Mineral Society Special Interest Group (SIG) will be making a Coiled and Beaded Bracelet.
Date and Time: Thursday, January 27 from 6pm – 8:30pm
Location: Destin Room, SeaBreeze Recreation Center
Instructor’s Name: Nancy Buettner
Description of Class: We will be making a bracelet using an assortment of beads, chain and ball headpins or wire. This is a great opportunity to use up your leftover beads while creating something beautiful. This project allows us to be creative with color and shape of beads so no two bracelets will look alike–make one that fits your unique flare, or for gifts or friends and family. Two examples of some of the any possibilities are shown above.
You will be learning how to make different types of coils which will help you in future wire wrapping classes.
Supplies Required:

- Chain (approx. 7-9”)
- Clasp
- Ball headpins (2+inches – enough for each link in chain) or 22g wire can be used
- Jump Rings (2) used to attach clasp
- Beads – (Approx. 50-60 of 4mm-8mm beads) (make sure the bead CANNOT pass through the link of the chain. Some beads will be available at the Club but we suggest you bring some in a color that you prefer and supplement with the available beads. You can also replace some of the beads with metal pieces made for stringing.
