
Chain Maille – Helm Weave: April 2022 Special Interest Group Class

What will be covered: You will make a chainmaille bracelet using the helm weave. You will learn the proper way to open and close jump rings and fashion them into jewelry
Supplies Required
ALUMINUM RING KIT TO BE PROVIDED @ COST OF $5.00
Kit includes:
- 3.0 Internal Diameter / 18ga Gold Aluminum Rings (approx. 22)
- 6.0 Internal Diameter / 18ga Gold Aluminum Rings (approx. 20)
- 6.0 Internal Diameter / 18ga Silver Aluminum Rings (approx. 40)
- Lobster Clasp / Paper Clip
Tools Required

Chain Nose Pliers
Bent Nose Pliers (Preferred) OR 2 Pair of Chain Nose Pliers
Bead Mat so you don’t have jump rings all over the floor
Additional Information
It is highly recommended that you purchase a kit. If the internal diameter of the ring is not exact, the project becomes much more difficult and possibly impossible. We are using aluminum rings because it keeps the cost down and they open and close easily. There will be some brass and sterling filled rings available at a cost of approx. $8 but these are not recommended for beginners.
NOTE: There are some tools available at the club but there is a limited supply.
