Beaded Bezel Cabochon (Right Angle Weave)
When: Thursday, March 24 from 6pm – 8:30pm
Where: The Destin Room, SeaBreeze Recreation Center
Instructor: Diann Eilering
What will be covered: You will create a beaded bezel using several sizes of seed beads. This is a great way to display cabochons that you have cut and polished…or use one that you love that someone else has cut and polished.
Supplies Required
- Round Seed Beads 8/0, 11/0, 15/0 (Not Delica’s) *
- Gemstone Cabochon approx. 30x40mm (Size does matter) **
- Beading Thread (6# recommended)–1 spool. The amount used will vary 2-5 yards depending on your project
Tools Required
- Beading Needle – Size 11
- Beading Mat
Additional Information
*It is recommended to use Myuki or Toho Round Seed Beads because of the uniformity of size and shape. These are available at local bead stores and can also be purchased on-line.
**This will give you time, if you are interested, to create your own cabochon for this project. If you are not a ‘cabber’ there will be gemstone cabochons available for purchase at the SIG meetings in January, February and March if you want to purchase one from a club member. They are also available online and from local bead stores. Just be sure it is a gemstone cabochon and not plastic or glass, etc. AND make every attempt to stick with the 30x40mm.
